Discover the Desfiladero del Tajo in Ronda: A Promising New Gorge Walk

Ronda is easily accessible by both road and train. You can take buses or trains from cities like Málaga, Sevilla, Córdoba, and others in Spain. It is recommended to book your Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo tickets in advance, as visitor numbers are limited. Tickets can be purchased online via the official website or at the entrance, where currently only debit cards are accepted.

To reach the Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo Gorge Walk, start by crossing the Puente Nuevo from the Parador Hotel into Ronda’s old town. From there, head along Calle Tenorio, located directly across from the “Ronda Romántica” painted tiles.

Children under 8 years old are not allowed on the path. Additionally, the steep, cobbled pathway leading down to the entrance makes it inaccessible for those with mobility difficulties. For those willing to take on the descent, it’s important to note that you’ll need to walk the same path back for the exit. However, future improvements in Phase 2 will make the journey even more exciting, offering enhanced access to the heart of Ronda’s stunning scenery.

All visitors are required to wear helmets during the walk, which are provided with the entrance ticket—similar to the safety protocols at Caminito del Rey. While some visitors feel the helmets (in Phase 1) may suggest a more extreme adventure, they are a precautionary measure to ensure safety along the trail. For more information, see here.

Once completed, the second phase will extend the trail from the base of the Puente Nuevo to the old San Miguel Hermitage near the Arab Baths, offering a more immersive experience. It will feature a suspended platform that allows visitors to traverse the entire gorge, promising an impressive new way to explore this stunning area.
